This album was actually my introduction to Ludo (as much as I hate to admit it, seeing how this was their break out album). Ludo seems to encompass the elements of pop rock and pop punk in one fantastic package. The album features catchy guitar riffs with even catchier lyrics. It just begs you to sing along as loud as you can, no matter where you are. This album features the comedy of the title track, which is also the opening track, “Love Me Dead” then moves smoothly along through the next several tracks. My favorite tracks by far are the “Lake Pontchartrain” and “In Space.” “Lake Pontchartrain” features the craziest lyrical story I have ever heard on top of insanely catchy ska chords. “In Space” caters more to my love of pop punk. It can be described as “pure cheesy pop-punk goodness.” In general, the lyrics on this album make you think “…How the HELL did anyone come up with this stuff…what are they on, and where can I get some!?” Even the weakest track, “The Horror of Our Love,” is still an enjoyable track. Over all, this album is a very solid album and I recommend you acquire it, along with their previous releases.
